Wilkins was born in 1951 and grew up in Winter Park, graduated from Edgewater High School in the then sleepy little town of Orlando in 1970 and spent his high school years surfing, flying, boating, water skiing and exploring extracurricular activities with his biology teacher Donna (read his first book) which set the stage for his later romantic encounters. He started traveling early on family vacations and the traveling bug bit him hard and he has hardly stopped moving since. He has traveled extensively throughout Florida, Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, North Carolina, New Mexico, Utah, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Alaska, Wyoming and all the states in between. He is a plane flying, surfing, fishing, water and snow skiing, guitar playing, book writing, paddle boarding, van driving, wilderness camping, woman loving photographer and scuba instructor with a passion for travel and adventure, and has the ability to tell a story that will entertain.
