Beverly De Coodt first became enthralled with colonial American history while researching and documenting her own patriot ancestors for her application to the Daughters of the American Revolution. What most interested her was the tremendous paradigm shift in people's thinking that led common citizens to have the courage to risk all and plunge into the great unknown. This novel, although entirely fictional, reflects the many currents and sub currents running through society during the fermentation process that finally exploded into the War of the American Revolution. When not doing historical research, she can be found painting, gardening, building scale model houses, enjoying her pets, taking courses, and volunteering in several community organizations.
