As a teen, I began writing poetry in notebooks I filled with musings while crisscrossing the country in Greyhound Senicruisers, riding each summer between Denver and Minneapolis, with assorted backyard detours thrown in for added adventure. My high school years found me doing much my writing from atop a bar stool in the back of a small Denver donut shop I worked at; a dingy hangout for professors, cops, and street people - some of whom encouraged and inspired me by reading my work through bites of their crullers. I was never at a loss for material. A freelance writer, I have written in a variety of mediums and situations, and currently maintain two blogs; 'Chaotic Zen, ala Carte', devoted to essays and humor, and my poetry blog - 'Ponderable polemics, poetic'. I am a poet, writer, and high school English teacher originally from Minnesota, currently living and teaching in New Orleans. My work has been featured in a variety of locales, and I am a founding member of an online writing group known as Some Poets.
