This is not a book that describes things like expensive underground shelters as the best solutions for surviving short or long term, local or regional disasters. It is a practical approach that you can use to remain safe when there may be impending or increasing chaos around you. Throughout this book you will find descriptions of extreme disaster situations. If you are prepared, as much as anyone can be, for these extremes then you will have a better chance of surviving lesser disasters. You don't have to prepare all at once. I have been seriously preparing for over three years and I still have a couple of years to go given the limitations of my budget.
