In the future, there are four different Societal ranks: The Blinds, Plains, Colors, and Golds. Each rank views the world from its own perspective and contributes to the Society in its own special way. Cassandra is a normal Plain, living a normal Plain life, yet unlike other Plains, she sees her rank as more of a cage than an open field. Her entire world begins to fall apart at the hands of the anonymous Puppet Master who has never dared show up in her life before; how dangles everyone by a thread and always remains a step ahead.

Rachel Hinchey is a born storyteller who created imaginative narratives before she could read or write. She made up stories for Dr. Seuss classics, "reading" them aloud to her family - and anyone else who would listen. The dystopian and fantasy genres appeal to Rachel, who, like others in her generation, believe "Something more is out there for our future." "Perspective" is her debut novel and is inspired by Rachel's observation that people of all ages miss the bigger picture when viewing the world from a single viewpoint. Rachel is 13 and attends Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, TN.
