Peter Jangle Uncorks the Inflation Genie (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781452891682)

An engaging, educational adventure about the relationships between people, industry, politics and the economy. Peter Jangle Uncorks the Inflation Genie is a vital tool for readers to challenge their assumptions regarding the causes of economic downturns. In this deeply felt, fiscally-minded fable, it becomes crystal clear that when it comes to tampering with matters of the economy, and of the heart, there will be consequences. Seventeen-year-old Peter Jangle would like nothing more than to enjoy his final year of high school. Nonetheless, the local economy has dealt his father a difficult hand. Faced with another potentially long period of economic hardship for his family, Peter looks for answers to his father's second round of unemployment. In his search for answers, Peter stumbles upon a genie in a bottle that washed ashore on Lake Michigan. Suddenly there seems to be no end to what Peter can dictate and decide. It's not surprising that he relies on his new powers to lead his high school football team to the state championship. The genie also exposes Peter to the office of the Federal Reserve and the White House. What better places to lead his country to economic expansion and find his father a job? Besides controlling the country's supply of money, he finds that he is winning the affections of Sarah Banks, the hottest girl in school, and witnessing a playoff run for his beloved Chicago Cubs. Life is nearly perfect until disaster begins to follow each of Peter's "victories," and the fact that his father hasn't found a job proves to have deeper significance. First in a series, this debut breaks the mold on how learning can be fun-and in this case, an adventure.
