William Manuel was an author and playwright born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In 2012, his short story "The Three of Them" was adapted into a film entitled The Three of Us - a British/Canadian co-production directed by his nephew, William Stewart; the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Sadly, he was unable to enjoy the success of seeing his work adapted into a film or the recent publication of Pleasure Island. In 2010, William Manuel passed away at the age of sixty after a short illness, leaving behind many unpublished short stories and poems that will - in the near future - be available for publication.
