It is the home of the earliest English settlements and of not a few of the founding fathers of this country. It thrives today in a multitude of small villages and towns inhabited by descendants of original settlers, Native American reservations and urbanites seeking a respite from nearby cities. I had the fortune of living in one of these small town, working, getting to know the local people, who always knew that I was a "Come'ere", travelling every road to see as much as possible, and getting a feeling for what makes this part of the country unique. This is that experience in a collage of poems.
