Poet Vanessa M. Chattman has opened her heart and shared her dreams with you through twelve unique volumes of free-verse poetry. Her latest, The Black Sea of Roses, will lead you to dark places where reality and fantasy collide. Chattman's work will chill you to the bone and cause you to think twice about what may be waiting for you in the darkness beyond.
Each of Chattman's twenty poems puts another spin on classic horror tropes. In "Misty Blue," a couple gets more than they bargained for on a boat trip. "The Wages of Torment" follows a group of teenagers as they get a strange warning from a sinister apparition. A woman gets the fright of her life in "Pools of Hauntings."
Chattman focuses on the recurring theme of cabins, hotels, and other places of refuge for weary travelers. She warns of seeking security at the expense of common sense. Other stories feature haunted castles, ghostly whispers in the woods, sinister rest stops, ancient caves, and more. As the protagonists of Chattman's stories come face to face with the unknown, they must decide whether to give in to their fear or protect themselves from the darkness that awaits.
Vanessa M. Chattman has authored twelve volumes of poetry.
Chattman was born in Newark, New Jersey, but grew up in East Orange, New Jersey.
