Donald Haney was born in rural Alabama, seventh of ten siblings. He farmed cotton and other things with his family for the first 18 years of his life. In addition to farming, he hunted, fished and roamed the countryside, securing an education one can only gain through experience. As a young man, Donald became a Locksmith and engraver. Proficient in all manner of repair skills and a natural at customer service, he was much in demand and never without a job. Throughout his adult life, poetry and stories sang in his head but, much of the time, the demands of work prevented him from writing them down. As a result, today he is a prolific writer with a rich history of experiences upon which to draw. His life is characterized by his love for family, especially his grandchildren, which he balances with his need for solitude among God's creations. He currently lives in a suburb of Atlanta Georgia, though he remains an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan!
