Poetry is only a vehicle through which we navigate the streets of South Africa, and as we keep passing right, I ruminate of why is it that we are embarking on this journey, I ask myself what role am I to play as a young writer, to ensure the success of this spill of ink on our newly turned history page. The thoughts, crash against my brain like the morning breeze that collides with our windshield, I feel I can't escape the blood drenched axe of responsibility. We are all too fat to outrun that our leaders have created. A head on collision with the sewer is the inevitable reality that we are all running toward.
