Paresh Kumar Nayak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad. With a distinguished career in academia and industry, he specializes in the protection, control, and monitoring of power transmission and distribution networks, including FACTS devices and renewable energy integration. Dr. Nayak holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, where his research focused on innovative algorithms for distance relays in power networks. He also completed an MSc in High Voltage Engineering from IISc Bangalore and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from VSSUT Burla. Before joining IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, Dr. Nayak served as an Assistant Professor at NIT Patna and KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, and worked in the industry as a Transformer Design Engineer.
