What happens when a Jewish New Yorker moves to a small town in Texas? You're about to find out in this hilarious, touching series with eccentric characters who are forced to question their beliefs when situations hit too close to home. Prairie Springs begins in the summer of 2007 in the middle of Texas.
Jewish New Yorker, Anna Aron, accepts a teaching position in Prairie Springs, TX. Traveling with her is her gay best friend, Kyle Brickey. The first person Kyle meets is Winnie, a foul-mouthed, no-nonsense octogenarian who gives them a stark warning: "Don't let 'em mess with you."
They arrive to 1914 Harper Valley Lane and meet Rose, the pious landlady who rents out three cabins in her overgrown backyard, and who has a strict set of rules. Having just arrived, Kyle is unable to sleep and discovers something going on in the cabin across the way.
Other characters include a middle-aged couple having marital issues because of the wife's weight, The mayor and his wife, who are all smiles in public, but behind closed doors their marriage isn't what it seems, and Ronald Black whose wife has mysteriously disappeared.
Anna soon realizes she isn't welcome in town, but new friendships come to her rescue.
Reporting on everything is Constance Barker, gossip queen and the relentless columnist for the local newspaper. But not even she could have imagined how far someone would go to stop her from the biggest headline Prairie Springs had ever seen-the story that would completely unravel the town.
