Preparing For The Academy Entry Fitness Evaluation (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798255503193)

Are you planning to attend a law enforcement academy?
If so, does the academy have an entry fitness evaluation?

Do you know what the evaluations are?
What order are they in?
What are the passing scores/times/reps/percentage for each?
Are there technique expectations?
What determines a missed rep?
What day will they hold it on?
Time of day?
Is it on a track?
Etc..etc.

How are you going to prepare?

The answers to these, and how you prepare in the months, weeks, days, and hours leading up to them, may impact your success. For such an important evaluation that may play a significant role in determining your profession for the future, why leave it up to chance? After all, as the adage goes, "failing to prepare is preparing to fail".

A national and regional presenter and consultant with over 30 years of experience in working with law enforcement, military, first responders, athletic teams, and individual athletes, Jason Shea has had the honor of picking the brains of and/or working with some of the most highly respected subject matter experts, researchers, and authors in the world on topics including:

• First responder/law enforcement health and wellness
• Strength and conditioning
• Stress resilience
• Longevity
• Posture
• Recovery
• Nervous system optimization
• Nutrition
• Fexibility
• Aerobic/Anaerobic Capacity and Conditioning
• Mindset and building a winning team culture.
• And more..

He also served as a statewide law enforcement health and wellness coordinator for over 15 years, has consulted with Air Force bases, SWAT and tactical teams, Trial Courts, the Department of Corrections, National Guard Units, Fire Departments, Towns, High Schools, and various Municipal, City, State, Campus, and Sheriff's Law Enforcement Departments. He has also written for Police1 and had the immense honor of co-authoring law enforcement training articles with his former mentor, the late great Charles Poliquin.

Over that time, one common thread became evident: many candidates may have underestimated the preparation necessary to pass the fitness evaluations.
