Well, not exactly. This is what much of the mainstream media wants you to believe. To be fair, some of these stereotypes are rooted in a few truths. There are people out there building bunkers and setting up solar stills to purify water. There are indeed people out there planning for a complete societal collapse, ready to deal with the economy failing, proudly self-sufficient.

However, the reality of prepping is different from the hype. As a matter of fact, there's a fair chance that you are probably already a prepper on some level.

If you make sure you have a generator and some fuel on hand in case there's a blackout, you're a prepper because you are ready to deal with any potential power outage. If you have a family fire drill, you're prepared for a disaster that you pray would never come. Who wouldn't want to keep their refrigerators running and water flowing in case of an emergency?

That's "Prepping with Moderation!" You're not preparing for a complete societal collapse. You're not preparing to be fully self-sufficient for years and ultimately rebuild society. You're preparing to survive a short-term event with as little disruption to your life as possible. Prepping with Moderation is preparing for an event that you hope will never happen.
