Wendell C C Callender is a former Chairman of Committees of the Barbados House of Assembly. He is a journalist with the Nation newspaper in Barbados writing a weekly column 'Slice of Barbados'. Mr. Callender holds the BA General Degree in Economics, History, Politics and Sociology, the Diploma in Education and the B.Sc in Public Administration.from the University of the west Indies. Callender has worked as a Marketing Officer at the Barbados Tourism Authority and as Executive Director of the Barbados Manufacturers' Association. He has also been a Principal of a private secondary school, Co-operative High School. The former President of the Barbados National Council of Parent-Teachers Association and the Guild of Graduates of the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill Campus) has also served as General Secretary of the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce. Mr .Callender is also a songwriter, performer, management trainer, and community practitioner.
