Proxy: A Dark & Twisty Psychological Thriller (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798349347665)

What if the most dangerous voice in your head... wasn't your own?

Elena Rodriguez is a struggling actress desperate enough to accept an unusual role: become the public stand-in for Catalina Anderson, a reclusive bestselling author who never appears in public. The job pays exceptionally well and seems straightforward-master Catalina's mannerisms, make carefully selected appearances, and maintain absolute discretion.

But something sinister lurks beneath the surface of this arrangement.

As Elena begins experiencing vivid memories she never lived and thoughts that don't feel like her own, she makes a terrifying discovery: this isn't just a job. It's an elaborate scheme to transfer Catalina's consciousness into Elena's body-permanently.

With her identity literally being overwritten and a team of sophisticated researchers tracking her every move, Elena must fight to reclaim control of her own mind before she disappears completely. Her only ally is her estranged brother Daniel, whose investigative skills might be their only hope of exposing the truth.

But as the boundaries between Elena and Catalina blur, a chilling question emerges: when two minds occupy the same mental space, who ultimately gets to stay?

A haunting psychological thriller about identity theft on its most intimate level, PROXY explores the darkest corners of consciousness and asks how much of ourselves we must sacrifice to survive.
