Deborah Young-Hyman, Ph.D. is a diabetes/obesity researcher at the Georgia Prevention Institute of the Medical College of Georgia. With extended experience as a clinician, her research specialty is the psychosocial aspects of diabetes treatment and care. She lives in Augusta, GA.

Mark Peyrot, Ph.D. is a professor of sociology at Loyola College and serves on the research faculty in the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
