Ptolemy's Letter to Flora: Unveiling the Esoteric Teachings of Valentinian Gnosticism, Early Christian Mysticism & The Law of Moses (Large Print Delux (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781807926083)

Ptolemy's Letter to Flora provides a compelling modern translation of one of the most accessible and important texts of Valentinian Gnosticism. This ancient letter, penned by the influential Gnostic teacher Ptolemy, was designed to guide a fellow Christian, Flora, through the perplexing nature of the Law of Moses. Far more than a simple theological treatise, this letter delves into profound themes of divine justice, the nature of the Creator, and the esoteric path to spiritual enlightenment.

Ptolemy masterfully breaks down the Mosaic Law, arguing that it does not come from a single, supreme God, but rather from a mixture of divine, demiurgic, and human sources. By exploring these distinctions, he unveils a deeply layered universe where the ultimate, perfect God remains hidden, while a lesser creator governs the material realm. Blending early Christian scripture with mystical philosophy, Ptolemy crafts a thought-provoking framework that challenges readers to reconsider their beliefs about scripture, the purpose of moral laws, and the redemptive power of hidden knowledge.
