This book assesses the related rights of press publishers in the context of access to information and media pluralism. It looks to create balance between publishers' rights and the protection of freedom of expression and freedom of information. It will be useful to researchers of media law, EU law, copyright law and freedom of information.
Michalina Kowala, of the College of Europe in Bruges and of Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, defended her PhD thesis, written at the AMU of Poznań and Nantes University in 2024. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of press publishers' related rights on access to information and media pluralism. She conducted her research as a visiting researcher at numerous research centres in Europe. Michalina gained professional experience working at the European Parliament in Brussels, at the Commissioner for Human Right Office in Warsaw and at the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technologies during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU. Michalina shares her passion for music by giving solo violin concerts and participating in orchestras around Europe.
