Queen Victoria (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781161449952)

""Queen Victoria"" is a biography of the famous British monarch, written by an anonymous author. The book covers Victoria's life from her birth in 1819 to her death in 1901, exploring her childhood, her ascension to the throne at the age of 18, her marriage to Prince Albert, and her long reign as Queen of the United Kingdom. The author delves into Victoria's personal life, including her relationships with her children and her political advisors, as well as her impact on British society and politics during the nineteenth century. The book also provides insight into the Victorian era, including the social, economic, and cultural changes that occurred during Victoria's reign. Overall, ""Queen Victoria"" offers a comprehensive and engaging portrait of one of Britain's most iconic monarchs. In the year 1819 the family outlook of the British royal house was not a very bright one. The old king, George III., was lingering on in deep seclusion, a very pathetic figure, blind and imbecile. His son the Prince Regent, afterwards George IV., had not done honour to his position, nor brought happiness to any connected with him. Most of the other princes were elderly men and childless; and the Prince-Regent's only daughter, the Princess Charlotte, on whom the hopes of the nation had rested, and whose marriage had raised those hopes to enthusiasm, was newly laid in her premature grave. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
