Douglas Leiter was raised in Minnesota, graduated from Hill Murray High School, St. Olaf College and Hamline University School of Law. He was a soundman for CBS News, a paralegal assistant working with the United States Department of Justice and a Minneapolis Police Officer. He became involved in grass roots politics for a period, international business consulting and then magazine publishing . He revisited his story about China from behind an old typewriter in the Federal Prison Camp, in Duluth Minnesota (where he lived as prisoner and musician for eight years). He now writes and edits for CCR STUDIOS (www.ccrstudios.org), an on-line venue for individual liberal arts pursuits. He also enjoys guitar, yoga and tai chi.
