xThe book's title had come to me slowly over the years. It was about theCharismatic Renewal & the changes that had come to my life as well as others. I was open to be a Guest Teacher at not only Catholic Churches & assist them in forming their own Prayer Group after ours at Holy Spirit had grown so large. I admit I was nervous & my prayer was always the same when I had to teach or give a talk. I said a very silent prayer but always ended the same way..."Lord, you got me here so let it be your Words & not mine." The Lord never failed to answer. I made friends with people of all denominations & heard from them over the years. I had always been referred to as the Catholic Teacher, later was changed to being a Welcome Guest & a Teacher to all People! My Prayers were answered & the Lord in His way granted me a Miracle! My son, after getting married & moving 2 doors away, finally went thru the Trash Bags he had rescued & stored. Inside were my 2 work-books from which I wrote my Manuscripts. At that time I had become very ill only to be put in Hospice. Each time I became "stable" even though I was Terminally Ill. I prayed the Book would someday be published while I was still here to see it. For the hours I was out of bed there was nothing to keep me occupied that I could manage. My daughter got me a Computer. I was not trained & knew nothing about computers. I learned E-Mail & to play games on POGO on the machine. All this was agift from my wonderful daugther who married & moved far away. These things came as a gift from her. She kept up on all expenses as my Medical bills take a large toll. On the chat section of Pogo I made many friends. I shared with them about my book that would never be Published. A Baptist family volunteered to use the work- books & make Manuscripts for me. They were beautiful & I was so thankful. All they would accept were 2 copies of the Manuscripts for their own personal use. Each night they had, as a family, a nightly Bible Session. Their opinion was that it was "Of The Lord" & they are Spirit filled Baptists....Christians whose lives were touched by the Holy Spirit. Soon many on the Web Site were requesting to buy the book,, of all denominations! Many wrote me or called. They couldn't understand at 1st how I could be so much at Peace with all I had been thru & knowing my time here is limited. I knew it was an answer to my Prayer to see the book published before my time was up. I wanted all who were sick or troubled or felt lost to find the same peace I have & have seen in so many others. In Philly I met a family who brought their Mother in for Prayers. Her name was "Lucy". I laid hands & prayed for her & we spent time talking.. While away on vacation up here I received a letter asking me to see Lucy when I returned. She had cancer at the time I prayed with her & was very depressed & afraid. I went to see her & she wanted us to be alone. We prayed together & talked. She opened her mind & heart to me. She had found peace within & was no longer afraid to die. Her problem was that she hasd so much to speak about to her family. No one would listen...they kept up her hopes of surviving & kept telling her so. They didn't want to talk about her acceptance & the things she felt she wanted to say to each of them before her time came. We talked as long as we could & she said she was once more at peace but needed the courage to tell her family to ACCEPT it & to be able to say to them all she wanted to & they hadn't let her. I told her I would pray for them & not to think of their on-coming loss but to let Lucy have the freedom to be honest about how she felt & wantedto be treated. She didn't want to waste the time she had left. She was stronger when I left & I saw her at peace but with a new strength, to insist the family consider her feelings & listen to all the last words she had for each of them. xI was born & raised in South Philadelphia, Pa. as Mary Pracuta.
After graduationfrom Hallahan High School I married my High School boyfriend, Bob
Putnick. After 2 years in the Marine Corps Bob enlisted in the Regular Marine Corps.
We lived at Camp Lejeune, N.C. for 2 years & had 2 sons while there...Robert J. &
Steven. After his discharge we returned to South Philly & settled there. WE then had 2 more children, .our son Steven & only Daughter Paula Marie whom we lovingly nick-named Penny fron song "Pennies FRom Heaven."
In 1971 I became a member of our Church Prayer Group & became involved with the Charismatic Renewal. Our small group, at the time merged with another Group at Holy Spirit Church. After the group had grown & we had helped start other new Prayer Groups I remained with the Holy Spirit Church Prayer Group .
I became involved in Teaching & giving Seminars at other Churches when they were preparing their own Prayer Group. I was asked to be Religion Editor at Active News...a small weekly Newspaper. It grew quite successful & we had readers from all over . As a Press Member & Teacher I was invited to onferences at Atlantic City Stadium in N.J. where I met & interviewed President Jimmy Carter's sister, Ruth Carter Stapleton & & Maria Van Trappe whose life was made into the movie "Sound of Music".
I also was invited to Conferences at Notre Dame University where the Stadium was filled with thousands of people from all over the world. My 1st visit I was housed
at Notre Dames' Sister College, St. Mary's not far away. There I was part of an International group & shared with Representatives from other countries. On my 2nd
visit there I was housed on campus at Notre Dame . There were various Teachings
given on different topics on the open hours & rooms where anyone could go to have
prayers said for them. Ihad only seen Notre Dame when games were played at the Stadium & on TV. It was a tremendous sight to see Thousands of people gathered
in the Stadium to not only hear the Speakers but to pray together as a group. What a
sight to behold when thousands of people joined in on the singing!
My husband had worked for IBM in Philly. We visited my sister up here in tha Allegheny Mountains each year. The year there was a terrible flood my husband volunteered to remain here & helped at the IBM office here. We were stranded! A few years later Bob requested a transfer here & so we, with the exception of our
married sons, moved up to this small town. Years later my one of my Married sons made the move up here. I had gotten a job at 1 of our 2 local Banks & got involved in
Church activities as well as starting adults getting involved in a Christmas Play for all
the School Children. We had to have another night as so many Adults wanted to see the play. Something new up here. Later, when I became very ill I could no longer help at school. When depressed me the most was the loss of my Book which I felt I had
no credit for, it had been inspired by the Holy Spirit! It was a great loss to me. I felt
it would never get Published & that I had failed in something the Lord asked of me....
to continue teaching thru the Book as I had taught so many, many people in Philadelphia & a few other States.
