Dave Sampson born 06.08.44, son of a miner, educated at Stanley Modern Secondary School. A plumber/heating engineer by trade, he signed pro for Wakefield Trinity in June 1963. He married Mavis in Dec 1966 - they had three children, Dean, Jonathon and Rebecca. At the age of 57 he penned his autobiography Fast Lane to Shangri-la; he followed this with My Shangri-la, the biography of his son Dean, a legend of Castleford RFC. Dave followed this with No Pain No Gain, the story of Kevin Ward, then the story of comic Gary Skyner, Britain's second born Thalidomide baby. After a respite period Dave again picked up his pen and produced the Shangri-la trilogy, Dark Side of Shangri-la during 2011/2012. Dave turned his attention to producing his first novel, Sally's Bench a commercial crime thriller. Two months later he self published The Corn Man, a raunchy erotic adventure thriller. Producing what he terms as feel good factor holiday reads his next release is to be The Coach, followed by Reluctant Vigilante. Others to watch out for will be Dark Nights, Darker Days, The Club, and Corn II: King of Corn. Dave plans to continue his prolific production of novels and due to the encouragement of success on the Amazon market he is enjoying his new career all the more.
