John Livecchi taught Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey for much of his thirty-four year career as a high school English teacher. He holds an M.A. in English education from the College of New Jersey and an M.Litt. from Drew University. He was I.B.M.'s "Teacher of the Year" for the mid-Atlantic region in 1992 and New Jersey's "Christa McAuliffe Fellow" in 1994. During the fellowship, John wrote The Odyssey: A Series of Tutorials on the English Translation of Robert Fitzgerald, a CD-ROM program aimed at high school aged students. In 1998, under grants from The Classical Association of the Atlantic States and the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Foundation, John wrote a second CD-ROM program, The Ancient Greek Theater: A Short Introduction.
