P. D. Jonakii was born in spring in the Dibrugarh district of Assam. Her childhood wandered off carelessly happy in the lush tea gardens of Assam. A fondness and a strong bond with nature were entwined intrinsically into her soul during these early years. Her young mind awakened to what is true, what is noble, what is beautiful.

As time rolled past this impressionable young lady, her sensitive mind slowly gathered up a creative inspiration which formed her poetic persona. A post-graduate in Social Anthropology from Gauhati University, Assam she has worked extensively on a few tribes of the northeastern states of India. This introduced her closely to tribal culture, norms, customs and religion.

Many of her articles reporting local incidents, poems, study on tribes etc. have been published in newspapers and journals.

Rhythm - A collection of verses is a selection of poems composed over a period of time capturing the inner and outer experience of human life, extreme perception, calm feelings, innate thoughts and undiminished love for nature and its surroundings. I sincerely hope that her readers will enjoy her simple verses with spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.
