Ripple and the Circle of the Springs

In the quiet, crystal clear waters of Florida's springs, where sunlight filters through swaying grasses and life moves in a gentle rhythm, a young otter named Ripple begins to notice something new.

The water feels different.

The plants are growing back.

The springs feel alive again.

Ripple has always known this place as home. Steady. Safe. Unchanging. But now, as he swims through the winding waterways, he begins to see that change is not something to fear.

It is something to understand.

Above the surface, people are showing up. They are planting grasses, clearing the water, and caring for the springs with their hands and their hearts. And below the surface, those small acts begin to move outward, touching everything.

Like a circle.

Ripple watches as life begins to return. Fish move through the grasses. Light reaches deeper into the water. The springs begin to breathe again. And in his quiet way, Ripple comes to understand something powerful.

What we do matters.

Everything is connected.

And when we care for our home, we are caring for every living thing that depends on it.

Inspired by the real Florida springs, which remain a constant seventy two degrees year round and provide life sustaining water for both wildlife and people, this story gently introduces young readers to the idea that healing happens together.

Through soft watercolor storytelling and a calm, grounded voice, children are invited to see that even the smallest actions can become part of something bigger.

A circle of care.

A circle of life.

A circle that always comes back around.

Perfect for children ages four to eight, Ripple and the Circle of the Springs encourages early conversations about protecting the Earth, working together, and understanding our place in the natural world.

Because when we all help our home,

we help the springs,

we help the animals,

and we help each other.

And what we give to the Earth

always finds its way back.
