Robert "Willie" Pickton was convicted of six counts of second-degree murder. His crimes involved the murders of sex workers and drug users from Vancouver's seediest streets. In 2007, Pickton was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, with a maximum parole ineligibility period of 25 years. His case made international headlines due to its gruesome nature and the high number of victims.
Unfortunately, Robert Pickton recently died after being assaulted by another inmate in prison. He was 74 years old at the time of his death.
