Rock Bottom: A Book About Falling Apart and Building Yourself Back (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798194347438)

We are taught to think of rock bottom as a single place-the lowest point, the moment after which the only possible direction is up.

But what if the bottom keeps moving?

Dr. Slim Saidi began writing Rock Bottom believing he understood the fall. Then life took him lower. What he thought was the bottom became another floor on the way down, until one realization changed the direction of the journey:

Falling is part of the game. So is getting up.

Rock Bottom is not about pretending pain is a gift. It does not promise that everything happens for a reason, nor does it offer easy formulas for turning failure into success.

Instead, it goes into the places most success stories leave out: the fall itself, the silence afterward, the courtroom inside our heads, shame, loneliness, responsibility, rebuilding, trust, desire, and the difficult process of redefining what success means after the old definition collapses.

It asks a question more important than:

How do I get my old life back?

It asks:

Who am I becoming now?

Raw, reflective and deeply human, Rock Bottom is for anyone who has lost something they thought was permanent-a relationship, a career, money, confidence, direction, identity, or simply the certainty that life would unfold according to plan.

Because perhaps the goal was never to return to who you were.

Perhaps the real journey begins when you realize:

You are not finished becoming.
