Room Nine: A Mara Voss Thriller - Book One (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798185474150)

A dead woman. A borrowed name. And the hotel room where her sister was last seen alive.

Ten months after her younger sister Elena vanished, investigative journalist Mara Voss has run out of leads and almost out of hope.

Then a woman is found dead in Room Nine of the decaying Marrow Hotel, the last place Elena was ever seen.

The victim checked in under the name of a wealthy socialite. But the body, the medical records, and the cheap shoes beside the bed tell a different story. She was living under a stolen identity, and someone wanted her real name buried with her.

Mara's investigation leads into the secrets of Hollow Creek's most powerful family: a hidden affair, falsified records, missing evidence, and a series of people who are all telling the truth, just never the whole truth.

But the closer Mara gets to an answer, the more her personal obsession begins to distort her professional judgment. And when she names the wrong man, the consequences cannot be taken back.

Because the truth about Room Nine is darker than one killer.

And Elena may not have disappeared the way Mara has always believed.

ROOM NINE is the first book in the Mara Voss Files, a gripping crime thriller series about secrets, guilt, and the stories people create to survive.
