In the high-stakes world of triple jump competitions, athletes have just six rounds to prove their greatness. They must pour every ounce of body and soul into perfecting the art of the jump.
In 2014, in the wake of a severe injury that changed the course of his career, Michael Puplampu found himself longing for the type of second chance that doesn't exist.
But this book isn't really about Michael. It isn't about triple jump competitions, or any type of athletics. Inspired by Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, it's about having faith in your own journey, the pursuit of your dreams-and the tiny factors that sometimes have to fall into place to make everything work out for the best.
Drawing upon lessons he's learned throughout the most difficult parts of his life, Puplampu shares powerful insights about perseverance and the importance of seemingly irrelevant events-while uncovering the secrets behind a life-altering combination with the ability to unlock a brighter future.Michael Puplampu was born and raised in Bedford, England to Benonia and Mike, both of Ghanaian origin. He earned his degree in aviation engineering from Brunel University. A prospective Olympic athlete, he has trained alongside jumpers such as Larry Achike, Trecia-Kaye Smith, Yamille Aldama, Chris Tomlinson, and Greg Rutherford.
Nicknamed "Titanium," Puplampu has endured a number of injuries throughout his athletic career, including one that kept him from competing in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Still, he has always managed to endure and move forward against all odds.
