Covering 10 years during which she began serious exploration of time and memory, many of the paintings in this volume were made in southwestern France. Jacobs' mother, a Holocaust survivor, narrates the art installation with riveting testimony about her brother and their attempt to escape from the Warsaw Ghetto. The Memory Project is currently touring museums in the US and internationally. Memory Project installation photos together with photos of Jacobs painting accentuate the point that the title of this volume makes-that Jacobs invites the viewer into her process. Jacobs studied with the late Norman Raeben at his Carnegie Hall studio from 1973-1978. Raeben, the youngest son of Sholom Alechem, studied with George Luks and Robert Henri, members of the Ashcan School. Jacobs has also written screenplays, designed sets and written books for children.
