Gary Hankins earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University. He was on the psychology staff at Oregon State Hospital for 13 years. His 40 years as an educator included teaching courses in psychology, counseling, ethics, and anger and stress management on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to being a consultant to businesses, schools, and law enforcement and mental health agencies and institutions, he appeared on numerous television and radio programs as a recognized expert on anger and stress management. He and his wife co-authored Prescription for Anger: Coping with Angry Feelings and Angry People (1988; 1993; and 2000.) He and his wife, along with Bob Baugher, co-authored Understanding Anger During Bereavement (2000.)
