Samantha (Sam) Harper's life is not shaped by existing 19th century mores. I've had a lifelong interest in Western settlement of America before the Industrial Revolution and wanted to write stories set in those locations. I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Minnesota and naturally wanted to write stories about my home state. The result was my first novel, "Northfield" published in 2008, a frontier fiction account of events resulting from the James/Younger gang robbing the Northfield, MN bank in 1876. I began writing fiction and nonfiction stories for various magazines across the country 25 years ago. Eventually, I brought these together in "Country Boy Anthology" Published in 2012. I served in Viet Nam in the early 60s. That experience made me sympathetic to the needs of veterans and for several years I've been a volunteer music/guitar teacher at veteran's hospitals in Colorado, Texas and Minnesota.
