Randall Roberts has a unique set of tools for understanding dogs with disabilities and their humans because he has a degree in Human Services and has worked for years with children and adults with disabilities. His real-life training with special needs dogs began with Scamper, who was a blind, allergic, cancer-ridden stray. Randall drove Scamper 1200 miles every three weeks for cancer treatment at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Scamper was just one of four exceptional dogs Randall had treated there for a life-threatening disease. He understands the human/animal bond. Randall has been a professional photographer since he was 18 years old. He worked with the nationally recognized black and white photographer Elaine Cousino, attended the Winona School of Professional Photography, and received many ribbons from the Detroit Professional Photography Association. After working as a portrait photographer for 18 years at studios in Michigan and Montana, he closed his own studio to pursue fine art film and alternative photography.
