In this book, I reveal the inner workings of a global and socially unjust economic system by blowing a whistle as hard as I can. As a high ranking banker for a decade, I witnessed the corruption of Scandinavian bankers. This is the story of how an entire country has been robbed of sovereignty and dignity. It is a sad story about a small country called Estonia on the brinks of the EU's north-eastern border. What I discovered during the last decades is that the same story applies to all of the Eastern and Southern European nations with only a few minor adjustments to the script. This book is written as an autobiography, and it also shows a developmental story of a person who is captured by the lure of money selling out one's soul to a corporate career and how a step by step transformation is possible at the psychological level through a quest for humanity. The story is full of colourful personalities - mafia-like bosses of the banks, corrupt advocates, journalists, trade union bosses and politicians on the one hand and cunning modern "freedom fighters" and political activists on the other. The translation was finished a couple of weeks before the global outburst of Covid-19 pandemic in February 2020. As a consequence, the measures of lock-down and closed borders fast mutated into an economic catastrophe waiting to happen already before the pandemic. The same questions will arise as after the 2008 crisis - who would be saved and helped, who would bear the burden of the inevitable economic pain and loss? Wall Street (i.e. the global rich) or the Main Street (the global lower and middle classes)?
