The son of Sicilian immigrants, Dr. Lawrence Messina was born on December 2nd, 1950 in Brooklyn New York. After attending Canarsie High School he graduated from Pace University in Manhattan in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. While at Pace University he worked as a research assistant under the guidance of Dr. Cyrus Bacchi and Haskins Laboratory. In 1976 Dr. Messina graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Dentistry and became a dental resident at Goldwater Memorial Hospital from 1976 to 1977. In August of 1977 he opened a General Dental practice and has emphasized the importance of dental health and general well being. Recent scientific evidence has indicated the relationship between oral bacteria and its negative effect on whole body health. He currently resides in Connecticut with his wife Chrystyna and their three daughters.
