Secrets Untold: A Shifter Story (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798251032635)

Secrets Untold by Eileen Sheehan is a dark, emotionally charged paranormal romance about love, survival, and the cost of keeping monsters caged.

Julia Pace has spent her life walking a careful line. By day, she's a dedicated zoo handler with a quiet demeanor and a talent for understanding other animal's needs and fear. But under the pull of moonlight or danger she is something far rarer: a feline shifter who is capable of becoming almost any cat. Her secret has kept her alive, but it has also kept her alone.

For Oliver Dickens, it is love at first sight. A seasoned game warden, he believes in rules, order, and protecting what can't protect itself. But Julia's not the only one with a secret. Oliver has one as well that is kept well hidden by his magical aunt. When Julia enters his life, Oliver finds himself wanting to push through the emotional barriers that she's erected in hopes of having a future together.

That hope is threatened when Julia is kidnapped by a black-market trafficker who deals in rare and supernatural creatures. To save the woman he loves, Oliver must make an impossible choice and become the very monster that his aunt worked so hard to hide. Therefore, risking becoming the very thing that once hunted her kind to near extinction.

As danger closes in, secrets come to light: ancient rivalries between shifter species, the devastating cost of magic, and the truth that sets both Julia and Oliver free. Love is tested against instinct and trust is forged in blood.

Secrets Untold weaves suspense, romance, and the supernatural into a gripping story of two people fighting not only the enemies around them-but the secrets untold.

Secrets Untold by Eileen Sheehan is an entertaining story that blends romance, suspense, action, and the supernatural. The author does a great job of showing Julia's inner struggle between keeping her secret and learning to trust Oliver. What caught my attention the most was how authentically their relationship developed throughout the storyline, even with everything threatening to fall apart around her. The way the emotional tension merged with the danger really kept the plot moving. Julia's ability to shift added something deeper to her relationship with Oliver, especially since it ties into her trust issues and her need for control. That layer made the story intense but very engaging. Altogether, it's a gripping supernatural novel with real heart. Readers who enjoy shifter romance with lots of tension would really love this book.
