Seduced by metaphor: Timothy Pilgrim collected published poems (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781734135244)

Seduced by metaphor is a collection of the published work of Montana native and Pacific Northwest poet Timothy Pilgrim. It includes his first poem published in 1959, one of over 400 poems accepted by over 100 American and international periodicals and books through 2020.

Published by Cairn Shadow Press, the tight, vivid poems in this book are powered by seductive, current, authentic life metaphors lithe upon the page.

Throughout its 432 pages in three sections - Pilgrim in his own wright, Part professor, part poet, and Early Pilgrim, reluctant cowboy - the stories and insights gather weight and take shape.

Pilgrim's breadth and quality of wordplay add richness to his work, and, without cease, transfer genuine emotion to the page.

Replete with poems steeped in Montana, Idaho, and Washington culture and outdoor splendor, the collection is a soundtrack of life. Readers are immersed into a range of themes - family, love, loss, societal stress, climate change, war, violent masculinity, elitism, misogyny, science, philosophy, criticism - and immediately rewarded by Pilgrim's extraordinary skill at turning a phrase.
