Carol grew up in the rural Midwest, one of 14 siblings. She started writing as a child and penned her first historical romance novel at age 11 (unpublished). Writing shadowed everything as she built her career and focused on raising her family. Carol recently returned home to slow down a bit and carve out more time for her writing. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening. Carol feels strongly connected to her family and her faith in gardening. Her father and grandmother were avid gardeners and she feels their encouragement and advice as she walks in their footsteps. Digging in the dirt with the sun on her back and a light breeze stirring through the garden rows brings her peace. She currently lives in a small Iowa town with her family in a 1918 American Four Square home that they have been renovating, working at their own pace and learning a lot along the way. She is very active with her daughter's school and she enjoys working with all sorts of youth programs. She is the founder of a local writers' club, The Red Barn Writers' Guild. Robert Frost's Poem The Road Not Taken has been an inspiration for her since my teens. It applies greatly to this journey into life as a writer.
