Sefer Yetzirah The Book of Formation Reconstructed: A Structural Translation from the Hebrew Rendered as an Executable System (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798254868514)

The Sefer Yetzirah, or "Book of Formation," has long been read as a mystical or philosophical work, its references to letters, numbers, and creation treated as metaphor or theology. But what if it describes something else entirely?

In this reconstruction, Dr. Erik Gray presents a new translation of the Sefer Yetzirah based on the original Hebrew textual traditions, carefully triangulated across its earliest surviving recensions. Preserving the structure of the text while removing later interpretive overlays, this work reveals a system: a framework of elements, operations, and constraints through which form is generated.

But the work does not end there.

Building on the reconstructed text, the second half of this volume extends the system into a formal model-one that can be executed, tested, and observed. What emerges is not a reinterpretation, but a completion: a generative structure paired with a principle of selection, revealing how configurations form, persist, and stabilize under constraint.

This is not a mystical reading.
This is not a symbolic interpretation.

It is a reconstruction of a system-and a demonstration of what that system does.
