Forgiveness is such an emotionally-charged experience that is a powerful life-changer when we finally address it in our lives. Failing to forgive causes a person to dwell on their past hurts and prevents them from not only enjoying life but being able to accomplish their personal goals. Once we come to the place where we can see the damage it is doing to ourselves and come to the realization that for our own sake, as well as theirs, we must forgive them, we are in a better position to change our future. Many of the authors described the release and freedom they experienced after they forgave someone for something that had happened maybe recently or years or decades ago.
