Sex In Marriage: God's Design for Intimacy, Pleasure, and Oneness (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798180358240)

God made it. He designed it. And He called it very good.

Few subjects matter more to a marriage and are spoken of well so rarely. The world will not stop talking about sex, yet most of what it says is a lie. Too often the people of God have said nothing at all, leaving husbands and wives to piece together their understanding from shame, silence, and the noise of the culture.

Sex In Marriage breaks that silence with the truth of Scripture, spoken plainly and reverently. Pastor Adama Segbedji takes the reader from Eden to the cross to the everyday marriage bed, recovering what God actually said about intimacy: that it is His gift, His design, and His good work, never a concession to weakness and never something to be ashamed of.

Written for three readers at once, this book speaks to married couples who want their marriage to be all God designed it to be, to those preparing for marriage who long to arrive without regret and without fear, and to couples whose marriage bed has become a place of pain rather than joy.

Inside you will find honest, biblical teaching on the meaning of becoming one flesh, the celebration of married love in the Song of Solomon, the plain instruction of the apostle Paul, the truth that pleasure was God's idea first, and frank pastoral counsel on differing desire, dry seasons, the years the children come, and keeping the fire alive across a lifetime. You will also find courageous chapters on guarding the marriage from temptation, pornography, and the affair of the heart, and a closing section of deep hope for the wounded, because what sin has broken, grace can rebuild.

Whatever you bring to these pages, one conviction holds the whole book together. He thought of your marriage first. He called it very good. And He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in it. With God, it is never too late.
