The Shadow of the Ghost

A Whitewater Tribune Mystery

Book One

Some stories begin with a photograph. Others begin with a shadow.

When young Whitewater Tribune photographer Dorothy Wentzel captures an impossible shadow during a child's funeral at Wisconsin's legendary Hillside Cemetery, she dismisses it as a flaw in the film. But when the same phenomenon appears again in another photograph, Dorothy and newspaper researcher Betsy Shulps uncover a mystery that reaches far beyond a simple ghost story.

Their investigation leads them into the heart of Whitewater's infamous Witches' Triangle, where forgotten cemeteries, secret journals, mysterious land surveys, and long-buried family secrets suggest someone may have deliberately created a place where the boundary between the living and the dead has grown dangerously thin.

As Halloween approaches, every answer reveals an even darker question, and Dorothy realizes some shadows are more than tricks of the light.

Blending authentic Wisconsin history with chilling supernatural suspense, The Shadow of the Ghost launches the Whitewater Tribune Mystery series, where each investigation uncovers another hidden chapter in Whitewater's haunted past.

Some mysteries refuse to stay buried... and every shadow has a story.
