He then built his portfolio and landed his first commission: illustrations for a full-color edition of Moby Dick. For 30 years, John has worked for educational publishers in Holland, Germany. He recently received the Certificate of Merit of the American Society of Illustrators.
Annelies Van Uden studied children's literature in her native Holland. After a brief career in journalism, she became a children's librarian and started writing books for children, too.
