I was never that much encouraged toward writing when I was in school. The only time I had "moderate" success was in my college Creative Writing class and that for just one story, which actually formed the basis for one of the short stories inside this book. My venture into actual writing didn't begin until I was in my forties. And from there the wellspring of words and ideas started to come. I showed some of my high school classmates some of my writings to include stories and poetry and one said that I really had a gift for writing. As for me, I consider my writing style to more along the lines of a oldtime 'storyteller' or 'yarnspinner'. I write, as I like to think, from the "gut". I don't lay out a story line as do some authors. I just write from my heart, mind, and soul.
