It all begins with a strange rain falling... a spirited young pop journalist arrives in town for reasons unknown and befriends a somewhat reclusive ex-Judge with a skeleton in his closet. Over fireside chats, long evenings and bottles of Glenfiddich she opens her past to him and transports him on a magical journey. Through her stories the Judge slowly awakens and yearns to live again and preserve the belle amitié between them. But in the end he finds, like life, she is as intangible and elusive as a song... and the memories it leaves behind. SIERRA is a fantasy novel inspired by a hauntingly beautiful song, and is written as a duo-logy. This is Volume I.

MELVYN HOWARD, a Brit by birth and presently living in the U.S. has had a more than healthy obsession with current and global musical trends. Amazed by the sounds all around him, he left reality and dived into a fantasy world of rok n roll. From this journey Sierra evolved, a double album of adventure and unexpected happenings. Melvyn what is a good book for you? "It must tell a story. For me it is like a good drink with a twist of lime or lemon. Something, that from your very first sip is cool, refreshing and tasty, so that by the time you're finished, the first thought you have is: 'I'll have another please.' That is a good read." MELVYN HOWARD is happily engaged in finishing up his third book which is scheduled for release in the Fall/winter of 2013. Find him on twitter @MelvynHoward.
