Absolutely. I'd make the opening a little more lyrical and let the description unfold naturally from the central idea.
SINKS - Book One: poems of what we washed away
A sink is such an ordinary thing.
And yet, somehow, so much of a life can happen there.
We wash our hands after coming home.
We wash the dishes after dinner.
We stand beside someone we love.
We cry when no one is looking.
We get ready to leave.
We come back.
We begin again.
There are sinks in the homes we grew up in, in places we loved, in cities we travelled to, in hotel rooms we never expected to remember.
And somehow, they remember us.
SINKS is a collection of quiet poems about the lived experiences held in these small, familiar places-love, longing, intimacy, distance, loss, memory, and letting go.
Because a life is not made only of the moments we thought would matter.
Sometimes it is the ordinary moments that stay.
A hand reaching for yours.
A morning beside someone.
A goodbye.
A reflection in a mirror.
Warm water running over your hands.
And sometimes, years later, you find yourself standing at a sink somewhere in the world and remember who you were there.
Who you loved.
What you hoped for.
What you lost.
What you became.
SINKS is for the moments we carry without meaning to.
For what we washed away.
For what remained.
And for all the life that happened in between.
