From a wedding shower, to a cake baking session, from a trip to the beach on the coast, to a quick stop at a surfing beach on the bay, Sister Samms and Sister Johnson and their friends have one goal in mind, which the five handle as these issue have never been handled before. Sister Samms and Sister Johnson is as light as it is dark. History is learned, through stories they remember, hurt is experienced through those same memories, yet laughter is a mainstay throughout the novel. Samms and Johnson are funny but not cartoons - in the spirit of Agathie Christie's Miss Marpel, and Donald Bain's J. B. Fletcher, of Murder, She Wrote, Samms and Johnson, arent, but are detectives. They solve mysteries of sorts in a vigilante mode. The two widows break the law, but they do it in a loving "Christian" manner. Women sympathize with Samms and Johnson. Men put their fingers in their ears and have been known to squirm when being told about or after reading Sister Samms and Sister Johnson - Vigilantes.
