"Sky Songs is a version of me that started almost 15 years ago, the first time I heard "Fearless" by Taylor Swift. I realized I wanted to write something that could connect with someone emotionally so instantly. Since then, I've let pop songs inspire me as much, if not more, than any poetry book. It's messy and repetitive and maybe the worst of book I've written. But it also feels like the first book I've written to me, for me to read.
